Conference Update – EACPT 2025, Helsinki

NADIS PhD candidate Thomas Bronchard presented his research at the European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (EACPT) Conference 2025 in Helsinki, Finland.

His poster, titled “Pharmacological targeting of oxidative stress alleviates lipid overload-induced mitochondrial dysfunction in a human adipocyte spheroid model,” explored how Compound X can counteract mitochondrial impairments caused by lipid overload in primary human adipocytes.

Using a 3D spheroid model derived from stromal vascular fractions, Thomas demonstrated that Compound X improves both basal and maximal respiration, as well as spare respiratory capacity under certain conditions. These results suggest potential for future therapeutic strategies targeting mitochondrial dysfunction in metabolic disorders.

We congratulate Thomas on sharing these exciting findings with the clinical pharmacology community!
