NAD Metabolism and Signaling FASEB Conference in Lisbon (2)

Last month, our DC Thomas attended the FASEB Conference – NAD Metabolism and Signaling in Lisbon, Portugal, from August 25th to 29th. This event brought together leading experts and researchers to discuss the latest findings and advancements in NAD⁺ metabolism. During the conference, Thomas presented a poster titled: “Fluxomics Analysis of NAD Metabolites in Human Adipocyte Spheroids”

This study aimed to establish a NAD⁺ fluxomics assay to dynamically quantify NAD⁺ biosynthesis and consumption in human white adipocyte spheroids using isotope-labeled nicotinamide (NAM). Results showed successful detection of several NAD⁺-related metabolites, with rapid uptake and labeling of NAD⁺ after 30 minutes and stable levels over 24 hours. The isotopic tracing approach successfully tracks NAD⁺ metabolism, offering potential applications in understanding and modulating NAD⁺ in obesity-related conditions.
