Description of the project:As a member of NADIS, I am committed to creating an advanced mass spectrometry framework that supports the research efforts of NADIS researchers, including myself. My responsibilities include the development, optimization, and validation of a high-throughput metabolomics method using state-of-the-art mass spectrometry. Throughout this project, I aim to improve my bioinformatics skill to effectively manage extensive datasets derived from diverse cohorts. Furthermore, I intend to delve into fluxomics research focused on NAD+ with the goal of broadening our understanding of the molecular pathways involving NAD+, while supplying accompanying proteomic data to reinforce our findings.  The culmination of my PhD journey involves a comprehensive analysis of interindividual fluctuations in NAD+ levels and its associated metabolites. My objective is also to examine how NAD+ levels are influenced by physical and nutritional interventions, particularly within the population of frail elderly individuals. This multifaceted approach, empowered by mass spectrometry, will contribute to a deeper understanding of the factors influencing NAD+ dynamics and pave the way for valuable insights into strategies for promoting healthier aging.
Favorite way to keep NAD levels high: Embracing the outdoors and hitting over 10k steps daily (thanks to my trusty dog). Diving and snorkeling, with a deep love of the sea and sea life. And I am still trying to pick up a sport with the goal to promote (my) healthy aging.
